Not a Bruins fan but I love Hockey. This is beautiful on so many levels.
I watched that game, my favourite Habs game of all time. The Bruins were all-conquering, with Orr and Esposito at their peak. However nobody noticed that the Canadiens had more points in the last half of the season than the Bruins. Le Gros Jean led some real warriors -- Mahovlich x2, Cournoyer, Richard, Savard, Lapointe, Lemaire. Ken Dryden carried the entire load in goal after playing just six (6!!!) regular season games - the first and only player to win the Conn Smythe BEFORE winning the Calder. That will never happen again, in any sport!! The finals against the Black Hawks was a classic, with Lemaire scoring on a slapshot from close to the centre red line to win game 7 on the road 3-2.
Oh yes. A fabulous game for their most fabulous Stanley Cup. Coming close to it is the seventh game against Boston in 1979.
He must have gotten a ration when got back in the dugout later!!! 😂 😊
This is great. Old time hockey!!! I love it!
geoff courtnall has entered the chat!
I can watch Lemaire's goal a thousand times and still be amazed.
Check out his goal in Game 7 of the 1971 final against Chicago.
@@georgelewis3047 That was another beauty. It was not a luck, Lemaire knew was he was doing, because he knew Esposito who played for Montreal in his debut. Lemaire turned the game around.
Take notes kyrie
Orr on the ice for 6 of the 7 goals!
how do you blow a 5-1 lead in the playoffs Bruins?-you stop playing...
As a Red Wings fan, i remember this. He would have been a superstar.
I remember as a boy watching this game with my dad - in French. I vividly remember when Lemaire cut that pass went on a breakaway. My dad was stating cheering at the TV saying “watch he won’t miss”. He scored of course and it was happy times from then onward. That was Beliveau’s team. He willed them to the cup.
I search for this video always when i feel like i need some little cleansing crying. That's love ❤
I had the pleasure to meet and speak with Gordie at Mark Howes house back in 1992. What a great man !!!!!
I wonder, if they didn’t still have that silly 1 vs 3 and 2 vs 4 rule, and the Bruins met the Canadiens in the Finals instead, so the Bruins had 2 rounds of hockey to study the Habs and Dryden, how would that have turned out?
Congrats ms. Bargowski on your retirement! I remember learning about the Bruins in your class in 2nd grade, (They lost to the Capitals in the quarterfinals on Joel Ward's overtime goal that year.) Thanks to Griffin and James, Willowbrook's resident "Massholes."
James now goes to Boston University and our 5th grade teacher's twin daughters are going to BU in the fall.
Is this the same song?... I believe it is: ua-cam.com/video/Ja_W_WmXLiw/v-deo.htmlsi=T3PKblJs2WiSdIU1
AHRSOLE, Felger. Back in 2017, 98.5 host Mike Felger apologized for the “low-class” comments he made in the wake of Cy Young award winning pitcher Roy Halladay’s death in a small plane crash. Felger had said of Halladay on air: “I looked at that guy and said, ‘That ain’t no tragedy.’ It just sort of angers me. You care that little about your life? Your little joyride is that important to you, that you’re going to risk just dying? … ‘Whee! Whee! Yeah, man, look at the G-Force on this! I’m Maverick. Pew, Pew! Yeah, man, look at this, this is so cool!’ And you did. Splat, and it’s over. Boston Herald, May 30, 2024
gee whiz...guess who was on the ice for all the habs goals? yes,the golden boy
Milburry is right Wtf is JR thinking?? Way to many hits to JR’s head ,delusional . Should of been 30 games without pay and today’s game would be more fun to watch, but all the superstars are out with ?? Yeap concussions, Play the puck then hit if need be.
Ooh Boston you’re my home 🖤💛
Sandersons smoking days were starting to take effect. He was totally useless after a 5 -1 lead.
Let's watch it again if you're strong enough,,,lol,,,I could watch this every day,,,,,,
The only one I know of that has played for the Bruins,Sox,and Celts!
Too much. Way over the top.
Jeremy was right- Letang was not hit in the head AND there is no requirement that the other player must go for the puck. Playing the body is perfectly legal. J.R. Wins again!
Milbury was a wussy when he played and acts tough now No one likes him. No one
YANKEES SUCK- however- I don't have one bad wors to say about Derek Jeter... ARod is another story entirely
I recall Michael Kay comment during the broadcast of this game, that since the Yankees had been eliminated from the playoffs in the previous game, this was the only game in Jeter's entire Major League career that didn't count towards a playoff possibility!
Don Earle on the play-by-play of the WSBK TV38 replay package. He would later become Gene Hart's partner on the Philadelphia Flyers radio/TV simulcasts. I believe Fred Cusick was doing Bruins radio during Don's TV stint.
So after a century you leaf with “going for a burger “…spare us please 🙄😂
Love Big Jean's celebration.. Tap tap pat pat.
You are a liberal idiot
Doucet - Galivan - the 70's Habs - I still get chills
Lifelong sox fan here. I was at the playoff game when bucky dent killed our spirit. My brother got me out of school, we stood in line for bleacher seats. I never thought i would get choked up over a Yankee ball player retiring but damnit...Jeter is just that admirable Thank you Derek Jeter.
The Bruins could of had Dryden, he was playing college hockey in Boston but didnt want him. With Dryden in goal there was no reason why the Bruins couldn't have won 4 or 5 cups in a row from 1970-75. They should have been a dynasty with Espo, Orr, Park and so many more and if so theyd be remembered as a dynasty as great as the Habs 76-79, Islanders 80-84, Oilers 85-90. But goaltending was good, not great. Same with the 76-79 Don Cherry Bruins. Dryden was so good that the Canadiens let Vachon and Tony Esposito go.
Lifelong Sox fan- never thought I would miss this man so much.
Beliveau 10 Stanley Cups
I was laughing so hard a contact lens popped out of my eye! Hilarious 😅
man i was 4 years old and.....i dont remember that game !
I still cry whenever I watch this <3
Frank Mahovlich went straight for the jugular.
Derek Jeter is one of my favorite NY Yankees!! He is a classact! Had a great career & in Baseball's Hall of Fame.Love Ya!
Wow! That's all that needs to be said!!!
Hat's off to the Red Sox,i never thought i would see this Thank you Boston ✌️💯
Battle of two big idiots
Longtime Yankee fan here, but I love the city of Boston, Fenway Park, Sox history, and the great past players who were there: Yaz, Jim Rice, Fred Lynn, Tiant, etc. Boston, you’re a class act to honor a competing player this way, and a YANKEE no less! Thank you to the Sox organization and Sox fans for putting the rivalry aside and truly showing RE2PECT.
Class, all around
I had to search for this video, because in my mind and heart, nobody ever sang the national anthem as well as Roger Doucet. Every time I hear someone singing the Canadian national anthem I compare them to him. Even though some of them are really good, none of them get close to his amazing voice. RIP Roger, and thank you for all the great moments!
FYI - Derek Jeter was born in Pequannock Township, Morris County, New Jersey, located about 20 miles west of New York City (Manhattan). I'm originally from Wayne Township, Passaic County, New Jersey, which happens to border Pequannock Township, New Jersey. 😁 They'll never be another Derek Jeter. 😭
Remember ALS? Anything related to it had a chokehold on the algorithm. Crazy the power of mass media.
